Charles Marshburn raises a census question

About: Extrapolating estimates, Columbia would pass Campbellsville in 2126To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Did the census take those lodged as well as housed into the account? Sorry, Ed. I couldn't help it! -Charles Marshburn

Thanks, Mr. Marshburn. To de-esotericize this somewhat cryptic message, Mr. Marshburn dislikes the way Kentucky expresses "incarcerated," by the term "lodged," which is the Kentucky way of saying it. At census time, Mr. Marshburn's note is a good question. We'd assume that inmates are counted at their residence in April 2010. If they are inmates at that time, where are they counted? Any help appreciated. Readers will want to know.

We do hope that those who are troubled over this issue which has plagued mankind since Genesis: issue of "incarcerated" or "jailed" vs. "lodged"; and about the *"baggage retrieval system they have at Heathrow," and whether to **crack an egg on the big end or the little end, will take a little time off for the next two weeks and, ***"mind the peasants in their revels, go to church, write . . . memoirs," and go a little easier on local ignorance, as they may interpret it. It will ****make their days go better. It's Christmas time. -CM
