Child airlifted to Kosair after Knifley crash today

Columbia, KY - Trooper Ricky Underwood is investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred Friday morning at 08:40amCT, 5 miles North of Knifley, KY on Eastridge Cemetery RD.

Candace Allen, age 26 of Knifley, KY, was traveling South on Eastridge Cemetery RD in a 2003 KIA RIO when she failed to negotiate a curve, due to icy road conditions she left the roadway and struck a tree.




Allen stated she was wearing a seatbelt and refused treatment. A passenger in the vehicle, 3 yr old, Alyssa Fulkerson of Knifley was not in a child restraint seat; she was airlifted to Kosair Childrens Hospital.

Trooper Underwood was assisted at the scene by the Taylor County Sheriffs Department and Taylor County EMS/Rescue.
