Obituary: Stephen Ray Cassada, 60

He was an auto body finisher at Owen Chevrolet and of the Baptist faith

Stephen Ray "Steve" Cassada, age 60, of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Wednesday December 8, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 12pm noon ET/11am CT, in the Chapel of Morris-Hislope Funeral Home, 5900 N. Hwy 27, Science Hill, KY. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Science Hill, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmET on Friday, December 10, 2010, at Morris-Hislope Funeral Home.



Stephen Ray "Steve" Cassada (1950-2010)

He was born in Science Hill, Pulaski Co., KY, on Sunday January 8, 1950, the son of Bradford and Elizabeth Baugh Cassada. He died Wednesday , December 8, 2010, in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY, at the age of 60 years and11 months

He was an auto body finisher at Owen Chevrolet before his illness and of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Robert "Bear" Cassada, Larry Cassada, Terry Cassada, Paul Cassada, his sister, Norma Jean Dick, his half-sister, Betty Flowers, nieces, Lisa Jane Tilley, Carolyn Stacey, his brothers-in-law, Robert "Tooty" Morris and Spencer Tilley. His Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Fred and Hazel Adams James.

He is survived by following:
  • His wife: Lana Joyce James Cassada, Somerset, KY

  • His daughter: Christa Gail Cassada (and Jerry Shumate, Somerset, KY

  • His son: Christopher Stephen "Chris" Cassada, , Somerset, KY

  • His grandchildren: Braydan Lloyd Shumate and Madalynn Rae Shumate, Science Hill, KY

  • His sisters: Pat Tilley of Science Hill, KY; Sue (and Morris) Skidmore of Burnside, KY

  • Nieces and nephews: Carol June, Gary, Jimmy, Becky, Barbara, Allen, David, Stephen, Mark, Beverly, Mike, Wendell, Lana, Teresa, Brad, Doug, Jessica, Anthony, Jimmy, Linda and Judy

  • Many great nieces and nephews and other relatives.
