3 arrested after high speed pursuit by up to 20 units

Chase began with call from Taylor 911 to KSP Post 15, Columbia, KY. Suspect in Chevy Camaro led lawmen through Green and Taylor Counties, finally being stopped with stingers on Meader Street in Campbellsville, KY, and a brief foot chase at that location. For now, they are held in the Taylor Co. Detention Center, Campbellsville, KY. At one point in chase, suspects attempted a home invasion, but gunfire from the resident sent them back on the road.

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

Columbia, KY - Three people have been arrested following a pursuit through two counties that lasted almost one hour and involved 20 plus law enforcement officers from 5 different agencies.

The Kentucky State Police have arrested:
  • 42-year-old Donald G. Brockman of Lexington, KY
  • 25-year-old Jacquelyn Renee Smith of Campbellsville, KY
  • 31-year-old Timothy Ray Curry of Campbellsville, KY
All three were charged with with Burglary 2nd degree.



Call received at Post 15 at 7:57CT

At approximately 7:57CT Post 15 received a call from the Taylor County 911 center advising that they were working a home invasion and had a description of a white 98-99 Chevy Camaro as a suspect vehicle with 2 males and 1 female passenger.

Within minutes of the first call, they notified Post 15 that a Taylor County Deputy was in pursuit of the vehicle.

In next hour Troopers from Columbia joined by Green Co. and Taylor County units

Over the course of the next 57 minutes, Troopers, Detectives and CVE units from Post 15, officers with the Green County Sheriff's Office and Greensburg Police Department and officers with the Taylor County Sheriff's Office and Campbellsville Police Department converged on the suspect vehicle.

The Kentucky State Police were able to deploy a Stinger Tire Deflation Device at KY 0210 and the KY 3183 which effectively slowed the suspect vehicle.

Suspect vehicle out of sight at one point on Winding Ridge Road in Green County

At one point during the pursuit, units lost sight of the suspect vehicle when the driver pulled behind a residence on Winding Ridge Road in Green County.

Home invasion thwarted by gunfire shots

In an attempt to avoid the police they forced their way into a residence where they were confronted by a home owner.

The homeowner discharged a firearm at them, forcing the suspects back into the car and onto the highway enabling law enforcement to re-engage in the pursuit.

Fleeing suspects captured after brief foot chase

The suspects made it to a church parking lot off of Meador Street in Campbellsville where they were all three apprehended following a short foot pursuit.

All three suspects will be lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.

The investigation is on going and additional charges are expected.
