First Lady Beshear announces all-KY 2010 Winter Reading List Anita Riddle, Bookmobile Librarian writes : I checked our catalog and we have the following titles available:The Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, Phone (270) 384-2720 From Commonwealth News Center Frankfort, KY - In time for Kentuckians shopping for the holidays, First Lady Jane Beshear today announced a Winter Reading List as part of her Reading Recommendations initiative. The list, which was compiled by the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives and the Kentucky Arts Council, features books all written by authors from the Commonwealth. "As Christmas draws nearer, I encourage families and educators to share the gift of Kentucky-based books with young people," said Mrs. Beshear. "Kentucky's rich literary heritage affords us with a variety of thoughtful, well-written books that have inspired many a reader. Blustery days provide the perfect opportunity for students to spend an afternoon delving into a story or reading about area traditions. I hope Kentuckians will stop by a locally owned bookstore and stock up on such local treasures." Mrs. Beshear introduced the Reading Recommendations program in the summer of 2009 and issues reading lists four times per year. 2010 Winter Reading List
