From personal observations and notes from Ron Heath, President C-AC Chamber of Commerce
and from Parade Announcers Lisa Fisher-Clark, WAIN, and Tammy Sexton, WHVE, The WAVE

Despite threatening weather which delayed confirmation, until 1:48pmCT, that the 2010 Christmas in Columbia would be a go, the parade turned out to be one of the most memorable ever.

Spectator numbers may have been down, but viewers packing cars along the one mile route of the parade from its staging area in Industrial Drive to Downtown Columbia to the disassembly areas on Burkesville ST, Columbia were treated to one of the best shows ever.

The Parade's Theme, "I'll be home for Christmas," was a tribute to the veterans of all wars, but focused on those fighting abroad today. The grand marshals were military heroes who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. They were Army Sgt 1st Class Bryan Walker, Army Specialist Tyler Royse, Marine Corporal Daniel Kermeen, Sr. Airman Jordan Baker. They rode in a military troop transport truck driven by Ted Vogelsburg of Sparksville, KY

There were over 80 units, some of them with many participants, making the total number in the parade itself an estimated 400-500 individuals, with the largest number in the Adair County Marching Band and one entry labeled, "Horses, Horses, Horses. Horses, Horses, Horses"

Three categories of winners were announced as the parade came by the reviewing stand in front of the Adair County Annex at 424 Public Square. To keep the parade moving, the winning entries stayed in line, and President Ron Heath walked to the winners floats as they were announced.

The winners were, in county
