A Travel Album: Brent Thompson 3 week western tour

Photographer Brent Thompson recently completed a three week tour of the Western States and very thoughtfully posted several photos to the ColumbiaMagazine.com Group at Flickr.com.

The pictures are virtually a Burton Holmes' Travelogue - the kind we used to go to at Columbia Auditorium in downtown Louisville, KY, in the 50s and 60s - online through the miracle of the www.

There was a full moon the night we were there, so I went out all night taking pictures. It was an unforgetable night. I took this self portrait with a 20 second shutter. It is the tallest suspension bridge in the U.S. and 2nd tallest in the world at 955 feet above the Arkansas River. It is just barely able to fit 2 lanes and has wood flooring," Brent Thompson writes.
