Obituary: Marie Smith, 92, Edmonton, KY

She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a homemaker. She was the matriarch of a large, respected Metcalfe Co., family. She leaves 38 direct living descendants.

Marie Smith age 92 of Edmonton, KY, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at NHC Heath Care in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Randolph, KY. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pmCT, Friday, November 12, 2010 and after 9amCT, Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Eva Witty Payne.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Allen and wife Patricia Smith of Edmonton, KY; Ronnie and wife Diana Smith of Center, KY; and Steve and wife, Theresa Smith, of Knob Lick, KY

  • Two daughters: Lee Ann Royse of Edmonton, KY; and Sondra and husband Denny Harbison of Glasgow, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Seventeen great grandchildren

  • and Two great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Smith, and a daughter, Dana Sue Smith.
