LWC alumnus is guest speaker at chapel By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College Columbia, KY - After more than three decades in business, the Rev. David Wilde decided it was time for change. Wilde, a 1967 Lindsey Wilson College graduate from Louisville, KY, left a career selling business office systems to become a graduate student at Lexington Theological Seminary. In May 1995, he received his master's degree in divinity and was ordained a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); seven months later, he was named pastor of First Christian Church in Bloomfield, IN. On Wednesday, November 3, 2010, Wilde was the guest speaker at Lindsey Wilson's weekly chapel service, held in the Norma & Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship. His message to the college's students, faculty and staff was on the importance of giving back. "It's a good fit for me," Wilde said of his decision to become a minister. "You have to go where God sends you." Wilde describes his church in central Indiana as a mix of people from various faith traditions. "The diversity of the people is one thing I really enjoy," he said. "We have people from many different faith backgrounds, but all of that somehow comes together, and it's a beautiful worship service." This story was posted on 2010-11-04 19:20:12
