LWC to hold lunch for Veterans on Nov. 10, 2010 This will be 8th consecutive Veterans Appreciation Lunch since college started it as part of centennial in 2003 By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College Columbia, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College community will hold its annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. The luncheon begins at 11am CT, in Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen Flatt DR, Columbia, KY. The luncheon is open to veterans and their spouses along with veterans' widows and widowers. There is no charge to veterans and their spouses. This is the eighth consecutive year Lindsey Wilson has held the sponsored luncheon. The event is sponsored by the Lindsey Wilson National Alumni Association. It was created "to recognize and honor everyone in our region who has served our country -- both during times of peace and war," said Vice President for Student Services & Enrollment Management Dean Adams. The event was started in 2003 as part of the college's centennial celebration. "It has become one of the more popular events we sponsor for the community each fall," Adams said. "We intentionally do not hold the event on Veterans Day because we don't want to interfere with other community events. For the Lindsey Wilson community, this day gives our students, faculty and staff an opportunity to give thanks to those who have served our country." The luncheon is free to all veterans, veterans' survivors and a guest. Veterans should RSVP by calling Lindsey Wilson at info@lindsey.edu or (270) 384-8400.
