Obituary: Elizabeth Scott Newby, 59, Burkesville, KY

She was a member of a large, respected Cumberland Co., KY family with relatives in many South Central Kentucky counties, including Adair County.

Elizabeth Scott Newby, age 59, Burkesville, KY, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital, in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral service for Elizabeth Newby will be at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY, at 2pmCT on Sunday, October 31, 2010. Burial will follow in the Burkesville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3pmCT,. Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville, KY.



Elizabeth Scott Newby, Cumberland Co., KY (1951-2010)

Elizabeth was born in Cumberland Co., KY. on March 21, 1951. She was a daughter of the late Myrtle (Stephens) and Reno Scott. She died Thursday, October 28, 2010, in Glasgow, Barren Co., KY, at the age of 51 years, 7 months, and 7 days.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Cary Scott, and one sister Anna Sue Scott.

Survivors Include the following:
  • One daughter: Anna Garmon and her husband Brian of Edmonton, KY

  • One son: Jonathan Scott, of Burkesville, KY

  • Her companion: Larry Helm, of Burkesville, KY

  • Three brothers: Tony Scott, and Lonnie Scott, both of Burkesville, KY; and Jonah Scott, of Albany, KY

  • Five sisters: Faye Stearns, of Albany, KY; Mary Stearns, of Albany, KY; Wanda Dunbar, of Russell Springs, KY; Linda Lee, of Columbia, KY; and Brenda Scott, of Albany, KY

  • Three grandchild: Gabriel Newby, Brianna Garmon, Shayla Garmon and 1 expectant grandchild, Kaitlyn Faith Garmon

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
