Organist Dr. David Doran will perform at Ransdell

Dr. David S. Doran, organist and professor emeritus of music at Jefferson Community College, Louisville, KY will perform at the Noon Organ Recital Series Tuesday, November 9, at 12:20pmET/11:20amCT in the Ransdell Chapel, 401 North Hoskins, AV., Campbellsville, KY. The concert will last 30 minutes. It is open to the public.



Doran will perform the "Agincourt Hymn" in a setting by John Dunstable, a piece written to honor the victory of Henry V over the French at Agincourt on St. Crispian's Day, October 25, 1415, the "Prelude, Fugue and Variation" by Cesar Franck and the Organ Concerto No. 2 by J. S. Bach.

Doran trained at the University of Louisville and the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. Doran also composed a set of 24 Little Preludes and Fugues in 2006 for the piano designed for teaching purposes.

He is the president of the Kentucky Music Teachers Association, was the association's 1987 Commissioned Composer and was the organization's 2004 distinguished Service Award recipient. -Tawny Vilchis
