4th Annual Silent City 2010: Complete Cast

A Magnificent Cast: Barry Loy, J.D. and Ellen Zornes, Wanda Beard, Jennifer Smith, Jane Grant, Lee Ann Jessee, Mike Watson, and Barry Jones

The cast of performers for the 4th Annual Silent City is complete. The Walking Tour of the Columbia City Cemetery, October 25, 2010 starting at 5pmCT from the Adair County Public Library at 307 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY. The cast is as follows:



  • Barry Loy will portray James Triplett (1854-1927), a longtime dentist

  • J.D. and Ellen Zornes will portray Junius and Molly Hancock, operators of the Hancock Hotel which was located on Burkesville ST at the present day site of the Farm Bureau Insurance agency.

  • Wanda Beard will portray Ruth Paul Burdette (1897-1987), Adair County historian

  • Jennifer Smith will portray Mary Jane Taylor (1834-1902), wife of a prominent local doctor, Dr. U.L. Taylor, prominent figures in Columbia in the 1800s

  • Jane Grant will portray Nancy Berley, a well known historian who was know for her writings in the Columbia Statesman newspaper and for her co-authorship of "Long Hunters of Skin House Branch," with Ruth Paull Burdette

  • Lee Ann Jessee will portray Rose Hunn Young, an early 1920s telephone operator in Columbia

  • Mike Watson will portray Albert Capwell Wyckoff, Columbia Presbyterian minister and author of mystery books for young boys.

  • Barry Jones will portray Dr. L.H. Jones, early veterinarian in Adair County and Barry Jones' great grandfather.
The performance is free and everyone is invited to attend. -Ernie Bennett
