Obituary: Peggy Elmore, 82, Taylor Co., KY

She was a member of the Elk Horn Baptist Church and was a former employee of the Fruit of the Loom Company, Campbellsville, KY

Peggy Elmore, 82, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 9:30 P.M., Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Dan Hunt. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY.



Pallbearers: Jimmy Clark, Clifford French, Garnett French, Jimmy Long, Brent Mershon, and Boyce Simpson.

Peggy Elmore, Taylor Co., KY (1928 - 2010)

Peggy Elmore of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late William Shelby Portman and Anna Lee Casey Portman, was born Thursday, August 16, 1928, in Grayson Co., KY. She died Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Greensburg, Green Co., KY, at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 1 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn Baptist Church.

She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to Mac Elmore July 8, 1950. He preceded her in death August 30, 2000.

She is survived by the following:
  • A son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Carol Elmore of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two granddaughters: Jessica Browning and husband, Jamie and Vanessa Smith and husband, Jason, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two great-granddaughters: Adrian Browning and Brianna Browning

  • One brother and two sisters: Robert Portman of Leitchfield, Marietta Wilson of Hodgenville, KY; and Catherine Keane of Louisville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arraangements.
