Columbia, KY - Coming off a 14-17 campaign last season, the Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team was picked to finish sixth in the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Thursday by the conference office.

The Blue Raiders - who finished 5-9 in MSC action last season - collected 45 points in the poll. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

Lindsey Wilson ended last season in the first round of the MSC Tournament, losing as the sixth seed to No. 3 seed University of the Cumberlands (KY) 58-47.

Sophomore Kalen Kimberland - the reigning MSC Freshman of the Year - is the top returning scorer after averaging 10.2 points per game. The Columbia, KY native also hauled in 3.2 rebounds per contest and knocked down 42.9 percent of his 3-point attempts (24-of-56).

Senior interior players Kemo Duncan and Cornell Thomas both return after averaging 5.8 and 5.0 points per game, respectively. Last season the duo accounted for nearly seven rebounds per contest.

Georgetown (KY) College was picked as the conference favorite with 81 points and nine of the 10 first-place votes. Campbellsville (Ky.) University was picked second with 67 points, while No. 3 St. Catharine (KY) College tallied 58 points and the other first-place nod.

Cumberlands and Pikeville (KY) College tied for fourth place with 57 points each, followed by West Virginia University Tech behind Lindsey Wilson at No. 7 (31 points) and University of Rio Grande (Ohio) was picked eighth with 23 points.

MSC newcomers University of Virginia at Wise (20) and Shawnee State (OH) University (11) round out the poll in ninth and 10th place, respectively.
