Columbia, KY - Goodwill Industries of Kentucky has scheduled a grand opening on Friday, October 15, 2010, for its new donation and retail center in Columbia, KY.

Located in Holladay Place shopping center at 212 Dohoney Trace, the new center began accepting donations from the public to stock the store on Wednesday, October 6. 2010. "We are excited and proud to be in Columbia," said Ken Bean, Vice President of the Cumberland Division for Goodwill Industries of Kentucky.

"The people here have already been so supportive of Goodwill and our mission, and theirdonations will allow us to continue providing employment and job training to Kentuckians with disabilities or other disadvantages."



October 15, 2010, remarks and a ribbon-cutting will take place at 8:45amCT, and the store officially opens at 9amCT. Festivities throughout the day will include giveaways, refreshments, and a live radio broadcast on WAIN AM 93.5.

Funded in part by a grant from the Economic Development Authority, Columbia's Goodwill is approximately 10,000 squarefeet and created 10 new jobs. In accordance with Goodwill's mission, there is an emphasis on hiring people with disabilities or other disadvantages. Each Goodwill center employs an average of 8-12 people.

Regular business hours will be 9am -8pmCT. Monday through Saturday, and 1pm-6pmCT Sunday.

Goodwill Store opens Friday morning, October 15

Holladay Place's newest store, the 10,000 s.f. Goodwill Store, will hold its Grand Opening tomorrow, Friday, October 15, 2010. A Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting is scheduled for 8:45amCT. The store will be open Monday through Saturday, from 9am-8pmCT, and on Sunday from 1pm-6pmCT. Ken Bean, Somerset, KY, vice president for the Cumberland Division for Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, said that the store will create 10 new jobs. "We greatly appreciate donations of good merchandise for the store. That helps us keep people employed, and it helps us provide good, low cost merchandise to people needing it." Donations may be made at the drive through at the north end of the building.
