Adair Fiscal Court Agenda, Oct. 12, 2010 meeting

The last meeting before the November 2, 2010, General Election is a big one for the Adair Fiscal Court, tonight, Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at 7pmCT, in the Adair Annex, 424 Public SQ, Columbia, KY. There is a 24-item agenda, headlined by a proposal for a resolution to rename the bypass the "Veterans Memorial Bypass." If the resolution is adopted, it will be forwarded to the state for consideration.

The Court is also scheduled to hear reports from Jelaine Harlow, Health Educator; Sue Stivers, Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce, and Greg Eastham, engineering consultant on the courthouse preservation work.

Support for the Knifley Fire Department and the Breeding Fire Department is scheduled for approval, and the court is expected to hear Judge Melton's recommendation for a replacement director at the Green River Animal Shelter; the vacancy follows the resignation of Director Jeff Thomas.

Items which are also expected to generate a great deal of interest are related to the Adair County Regional Jail.
