The estimate on the crowd is bigger

Gale King at Daniel's Mexican Grill thinks there were 5-6,000 here for event

By Linda Waggener

I'm still wondering just how big the crowd was at the Saturday night Sammy Kershaw concert.

Saturday afternoon I was hearing, in Cafe Columbia, that 3,000 were expected. This evening Gale King at Daniel's Mexican Grill said she was sure there had to have been as many as 5-6,000.

Mrs. King said that the restaurant served more people on Saturday than ever before, and that all the vendors she talked to were busy too. The walk by the restaurant, was filled, too.

It will be interesting to know how other local businesses fared during Downtown Days.

For sure, everybody seemed to have been having a great time. I know it made me terribly proud of our town to see everyone enjoying it so much. Thanks, Renaissance Columbia. -Linda
