She was a native of Adair County, a member of of a respected South Adair County Family. She was a member Epiphany United Methodist Church, and of the Eastern Star No. 374. Burial will be at Breeding, Adair Co., KY

Eleanor F. Firkin, 85, of Louisville, KY, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10amET/9amCT, at J.E. Ratterman & Son Funeral Home, 7336 Southside DR, Louisville, KY, with visitation from 2-8pmET/1pm-7pmCT, on Thursday, October 7, 2010.

Committal service will be at 12pm Noon CT, Friday, October 8, 2010, at Fudge Cemetery, 847 Independence Ridge RD, in Breeding, KY.



Eleanor F. Firkin, 85, Adair Co., KY, native (1924-2010)

A native of Adair County, she was the daughter of the late Gilford and Vedus Curry Yarberry. She was born December 9, 1924, and died in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, on Tuesday October 5, 2010, at the age of 85 years, 9 months, and 25 days.

She was the widow of William Edward Firkin, and a member of Epiphany United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star #374.

Survivors include the following:
  • Her son: Tim and wife Jackie Firkins of Louisville, KY

  • Her daughter: Theresa and husband Willie Matheis of Louisville, KY

  • Her grandsons: Chad Clubb, Brian, Chad and Keith Matheis

  • Five great-grandchildren
