Emergency Fiscal Court meeting lets paving proceed in 2010 Flex Money from state will be used for road projects on Arnold's Landing RD, Arthur McQueary RD., Fairview RD, Barnett's Creek RD, Birch RD, Chance RD, Junor Loy RD, Parnell RD, M. Caldwell RD, Burton-Garmon RD, Butler Branch RD, Royal Oaks RD, and Arbor LN. Details of projects listed below: By Ed Waggener The "Emergency Called Adair Co., KY Fiscal Court Meeting," is so named because of statutory requirements, and represents an opportunity, not a crisis, according to Adair County Judge Ann Melton. "We're finally getting money promised by the state back in March," she said. The money is called "Flex" money, because it allows each county who gets it to be flexible in how it is used. In Adair County, the money will be used to resurface or patch 13 roads which were promised by some magistrates, earlier. The "Emergency Called Meeting," Judge Melton said, will allow Adair County to get its paperwork in, and its $232,073.00 share of the Flex funds earlier. Judge Melton thinks that the process can be complete in time get road work done this fall, before the blacktop plant shuts down for the winter. The money is being divvied up eight ways, with Judge Melton and each of the magistrates getting to select projects each selects as a priority. The amount is being rounded up to $30,000 per district, with the additional funds coming from Adair County. The projects recommended are as follows:
