100 Years ago: Appreciation of Lindsey Wilson was high About: Melissa Stone for grateful Adair Co.:Columbia blessed to have LWC By J.D. Gee Melissa Stone's letter brought to mind these lines from an Adair County News opinion piece about Lindsey Wilson. It appeared in mid-December 1904, near the end of the school's first year operation (the added emphasis is mine): "This enterprise has done more to awaken our people, to brighten the future of Columbia, to invite worthy families to cast lots with us than any other, if not all, other recent enterprises combined...and none can over estimate its true worth to our town, county and entire Southern Kentucky."
