Obituary: Stephen Matthew Hopper, 29, Russell Co., KY

He was a political worker and was a member of a respected Russell County family

Stephen Matthew Hopper, 29, Louisville, KY, formerly of Russell Co., KY, died Sunday, September 19, 2010, at the University of Louisville Hospital, Louiville, KY.

The funeral service will be Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 10amCT, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Randy Smith the officiating clergy. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Friday, September 24, 2010, at the funeral home.



Stephen Matthew Hopper, Russell Co., KY (1981-2010)

Stephen Matthew Hopper was the son of the late Barbara Karen Grider Hopper and William Rae Hopper. He was born in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY, Sunday, May 10, 1981, and died Sunday, September 19, 2010, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 29 years, 4 months, and 9 days.

He was a political campaign worker.

He is survived by one son, Carter Hopper, Nashville, TN, and the following:
  • A host of aunts, uncles, cousins

  • Four brothers: Roger Hopper, Florida; Kenny Hopper and Bobby Hopper, both of Indiana; and Michael Lawson, Iowa.

  • Two sisters: Melanie Lawson and Megan (Rick) Johnson, both of Russell Springs, KY
Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
