Thanks to all for the Adair Singing Convention

Special thanks to Martha Martin and Richard Phelps for organizing the event

News from Adair Heritage Association


On behalf of the Adair Heritage Association and the Courthouse Preservation Funding Committee, we would like to thank all the singers, instrumentalists, host churches and audiences for the Singing Convention which was held Sunday, September 19, 2010.



We extend a special thank you to Mrs. Martha Martin and Mr. Richard Phelps for organizing the event. Though not a large amount of funds were raised ($166), those in attendance were treated to a wide variety of sacred music as well as an assortment of musical styles and talent from local singers.

The musicians and the churches they represented as well as the host locations are listed below. Singers:
  • Cane Valley Christian Church, Pastor Ivan Tucker
  • Columbia Christian Church, Grandpappy Four and Heather Spoon
  • Columbia-Union Presbyterian Church and Good Shepherd Catholic ChurchErwin Lepiarczyk and Suzy Grey
  • Hadley's Community Church, Pastor Elbert Hadley and church choir
  • Haven Mission, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Corbin and friends
  • House of Prayer, Chris Taylor and guitarist
  • New Life for the Nations, Ricardo Hughes
  • Mt. Zion Church of God, Paul Eastridge and New Life Bluegrass Gospel Group
  • Tabernacle Christian Church, Pastor Ben Underhill, accordion Hilda Smith, Kenny Davidson.
