LWC Community celebrates Constitution Day with Quiz Click on headline for story plus photo By Duane Bonifer, Director of Public Relations News from Lindsey Wilson College The Lindsey Wilson College community celebrated Constitution Day on Friday afternoon by testing the constitutional literacy of students, faculty and staff. To celebrate the national day, faculty in the colleges social science sponsored a Constitution quiz. The teams of two and three people were given 60 minutes to complete a 60-question quiz about the U.S. Constitution. The winning trio received a pizza party. The result of the efforts of the late Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia, Constitution Day is a federal day that celebrates September 17, 1787 -- the day the final draft of the U.S. Constitution was signed by delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. The winning Lindsey Wilson team was: Derek Morrow of Somerset, KY, Amanda Nathan of Bardstown, KY, and James Perrin of Covington, KY. The second-place team was Rachel Carr of Danville, KY, and Jeremy Hale of Columbia, KY. The third-place team was: Todd Smith of Columbia, Tanner Strein of Lexington and Melissa Wheeler of Elizabethtown, KY. The quiz was coordinated and scored by LWC Assistant Professor of Political Science Stefan Brooks and Assistant Professor Department of Criminal Justice Mike Giordano.
