Remembering Rev. W. Arvil Allen:
He was pastor at Christies Chapel


We are indebted to Rev. Rob Stout, Mt. Holly United Methodist Church, 804 Mount Holly RD, Fairdale, KY, for this additional information about Rev. W. Arvil Allen:
The Rev. Allen served churches as pastor in the Louisville Conference of the United Methodist Church from 1952 until 1980: Christies Chapel, Five Springs, City Road Chapel, Munfordville First, Mt. Holly and Fern Creek.

In 1980 he became District Superintendent in Henderson.Then, in 1984 he became Conference Council Director, where he supervised programs all across the Louisville Conference.

During his time as Council Director, Louisville won the honor of hosting the 1992 General Conference of the UMC, and he supervised preliminary local planning for the event. He retired in 1990.
