Boys break ACHS Golf program records - again!
By Steve Burton, Boys Golf Coach News from Adair County High School Athletics Records are made to be broken: Unbelievable, ACHS Boy's shoot 3-under par round of (141) behind Giles's 32. On Tuesday afternoon at the Pines at LWC, the ACHS Boy's golf team wasted little time celebrating their most recent Tournament win on Monday. They backed their championship up with an incredible record breaking round of 3-under par (141) to best Metcalfe County's (164). To break a school record is amazing but, to turn around and break your own record the next match out is simply astonishing. However, that is exactly what the Indians did on Tuesday afternoon. The Indians were led by Van Giles's excellent round of 4-under par (32). Riley Grant backed Giles up with a 2-under par round of (34) that included a triple bogey. Colby Robertson's (37) Daniel Rarey's (38) and Alex Durham's (40) rounded out the tribes scorecard. Wow! What can I say? Our score says it all. We are playing so well right now that I think we are amazing ourselves on just how good we are becoming as a team. Everyone played terrific but Van's round is super impressive. That is the lowest match round that I have seen as a coach. We are definitely getting hot at the right time, stated Coach Burton. The Indians record now stands at 16 wins against 3 losses for the season. -Steve Burton This story was posted on 2010-09-15 04:50:26
