Homeplace board thanks all for success of 2010 festival By George Kolbenschlag The Board at Homeplace on Green River thanks all who came to our Fall Heritage Festival Saturday. In spite of the uncertain weather we had a record turnout of at least 1,500. We thank the many of you who helped set up, who provided the activities and demonstrations needed to make the Festival a success and who came to demonstrate or sell your art and craftwork. But most of all we thank those of you who came just to enjoy the day with your family and friends. Homeplace on Green River is a work in progress. With your continued support, we are confident the farm will become a place for learning and enjoyment while preserving this area's farm heritage. We are a non-profit organization and a joint effort of Adair, Green and Taylor counties. Homeplace is operated entirely with volunteer help. We are dedicated to the protection of rural Kentucky culture through the sustainability of agriculture and natural resources using education, conservation and the economic opportunities of agri-tourism. It is a magnificent idea and with your help we are confident in its future. We hope you agree it is a very worthy cause, and we welcome your active involvement. If you want to help and/or become a member, contact the Taylor County Extension Office at (270) 465 4511 or e-mail rnash@email.uky.edu -George Kolbenschlag This story was posted on 2010-09-14 14:13:21
