Click on headline for full story plus photo(s) By Steve Burton, ACHS Boys Golf Coach News from Adair County High School Athletics The Amazing 2010 ACHS Boy's Golf Team has another tournament championship, the 2010 Heartland Conference Tournament played Monday, September 13, 2010, at Rosewood Country Club, 520 Fairway DR, in Lebanon, KY. Shooting a blazing score of 319, the young Tribe -- there are no seniors on the squad -- beat the field with a margin of 14 strokes better than the second place team. Van Giles led the way for the Indians firing a round of 76, which was good enough to earn him runner-up honors in the field. Alex Durham's (80), Colby Robertson's (81), Riley Grant's (82), and Daniel Rarey's (88) rounded out the scoring for the tribe. Van Giles and Alex Durham's performances earned them All-Heartland Conference Tournament Honors. This was a great win for us. To beat the field by 14 strokes is a great accomplishment. To beat Marion County and Taylor Counties, to whom the Tribe lost 2 of our only 3 losses on the season, was huge for us. I believe that just shows how much better we have gotten as the season progresses. Our hard work is paying off and that is always satisfying to see. These kids deserve every honor that they continue to receive. I couldn't be more proud of them. The Indians will be back in action Tuesday, September 14, 2010, against Metcalfe County at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson, 275 Country Club RD, Columbia, KY. Tee off will be approximately 3:45pmCT for the boys and girls doubleheader. I want to encourage everyone to to come out and support these terrific young teams.
