Adair County Singing Convention is September 19, 2010

By Martha Martin

Everyone is invited to enjoy an afternoon of worship, praise, and fellowship at the Adair County Singing Convention on Sunday, September 19, 2010.

The singing will begin at 1pmCT, at the Adair County Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY, and the six host churches near the Square simultaneously.Audiences may select their place to hear all groups. Singers will move according to schedule as follows:

  1. Start at Courthouse, 500 Public Square, then
  2. To Victory Community Church, 107 N. Reed ST, then
  3. To Columbia Christian Church, 206 Campbellsville ST, then
  4. To Haven Mission, 300 Merchant ST, then
  5. To Columbia Baptist Church, 201 Greensburg ST, then
  6. To Columbia-Union Presbyterian Church, 304 Burkesville ST, then
  7. To Columbia United Methodist Church, 202 Burkesville ST.
Each choir, group, or soloist will render three selections before moving to its next engagement, performing approximately 15 minutes each place. Only small instruments or accompaniments which can be carried are practical, as the Courthouse has no sound system. Most churches have pianos and organs which can be used for performances.

Allowing for distances, groups outside Columbia can be assigned later times to begin.

Singers should please call Martha Martin at (270) 384-2079 for scheduling.

A freewill offering will be received at each host facility by the Adair Heritage Association toward the restoration and preservation of the Adair County Courthouse. -Martha Martin
