Dual Breeding and Chi-town citizenship holder wants Portillos here Epicurean Kentuckian About: Epicurean Kentuckian in Chicago, IL:In the Quest for Perfect Hotdog By Greg Dawkins My name is Greg Dawkins and I live in the suburbs of Chicago. My wife and I recently bought a second home in Breeding, KY. We absolutely LOVE our Kentucky retreat, but the funny thing about this story, is that just 4 weeks ago, while down there, we were commenting on how well a Portillo's restaurant would be on the outskirts of the Walmart!! Folks, let me tell you that not only do they have excellent hot dogs, but the Italian beef sandwiches are to die for!! The smells alone outside of one of these restaurants will net you another couple of pounds. I have been writing the Portillo's Corp. in hopes that one day they may consider selling franchises, or just open one of their FANTASTIC restaurants in Columbia. Ya'll would never go to McDonald's again. I encourage everyone to make an attempt to try one of these excellent food choices from a Portillos in the Chicagoland area. You will NOT be disappointed!!! Greg Dawkins Thanks, Greg. If Portillo's is a smart as you and "Mary" think, they are already in line trying to qualify to get Richard Lee Walker to let them in Holladay Place. Truth is, they could get rich off the people from Chicago headed for Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Key West who will be saving 1.5 hours by traveling through Columbia, KY, instead of I-65. If you know anybody in The Portillo's Restaurant Corporate headquarters, please wise them up -- though we doubt they'll raise our restaurant standards as much as a Betty's in Chicago would raise theirs.
