Proud resident of Columbia, KY for 25 years is proudest ever, now Community excitement about return of Blue Raider football is thrilling By Randy Burns I have many things in my life to be thankful for. One is that I've been able to call Columbia home for over 25 years. Another is that I'm a proud member of the Lindsey Wilson College family, not only as an alumnus but also now as an employee. It has been thrilling for me to watch our community become this excited about the arrival of the LWC football program. Whether it's in the local barber shop or one of the local eating establishments, everyone seems to be talking about Blue Raider football and its first game tomorrow, Saturday, September 4, 2010. What makes this so special is the desire that I have to see Columbia become the sort of college community that totally embraces the college and the students who are a part of it. I see this happening more so now than ever before. Thanks Columbia! And don't forget, there's more on the hill to be excited about than JUST the football team. We are proud of not only all of our student athletes, but of all the students that call LWC and Columbia home. I hope to see you all at the Blue Raider stadium on Saturday! Go Blue Raiders!!! -Randy Burns This story was posted on 2010-09-03 10:47:49
