Obituary: Garvis L. Grant, 87, Adair Co., KY

He was a member of a large, respected South Adair Co., KY family and of the Beech Grove Separate Baptist Church. He was a farmer, school bus driver and dump truck driver for many years

Garvis L. Grant age 87 years of Hwy 55 South, Glensfork, KY died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 2:25amCT, at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellville, KY after a short illness.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 3, 2010 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps- McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson and Bro. Matthew Lawhorn the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Grant Cemetery at Glensfork, KY. The family request visiting after 4pm on Thursday at the funeral home.



Garvis L. Grant, Adair Co., KY (1923-2010)

He was born Monday, July 30, 1923. He was the son the late Vern and Zettie (Grant) Grant of Adair County, KY and died Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 87 years, 1 months, and 2 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alta Blair Grant on December 26, 1995.

He later married Imogene Hadley Grant of Glensfork, KY who survives.

He is further survived by the following:
  • One step daughter: Pam Cundiff and husband Brent of Columbia, KY

  • Three step grandchildren: Matthew Coffey, Leslie Rooks and his special little buddy Ty Cundiff

  • One step great grandchild

  • He was preceded in death by one step son: Rex Coffey.

    Mr. Grant was a member of the Beech Grove Separate Baptist Church and was a farmer, school bus driver and dump truck driver for many years.

    Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
