She was the head of a large, respected Taylor Co. family. She leaves 40 direct living descendants

Juanita Tungate, 79, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 12:30pmET, Sunday, August 22, 2010 in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral services will be at 1pmET/12 noon CT, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY by Bro. William Scott Cox. Burial will be in the Jesus Name Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Curtis Garrett, Keith Lawson, Steven Pittman, Stevie Pittman, Robert Rakes, and Adam Tungate.

Juanita Lawson Tungate, Taylor Co., KY (1931-2010)

Juanita Tungate, 79, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Otha Bryant Lawson and Floy Warren Lawson was born Thursday, June 11, 1931 in Taylor Co., KY. She died at 12:30pmET, Sunday, August 22, 2010 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 11 days.

She united in marriage to Grover Tungate, July 2, 1949. He preceded her in deathJuly 23, 1992.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and six sons: Katie Pike of Liberty, Edith Lowe and husband Roger, Martin Tungate and wife, Debbie, Russell Tungate and Larry Tungate, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Charlie Tungate, Clinton Tungate and GlennTungate of Elkhorn, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Seventeen great grandchildren

  • One great great granddaughter

  • Two brothers: Leonard Lawson of Georgia and David Lawson of Greensburg, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives andfriends
She was also preceded in death by one son, Otha Lynn Tungate October 24, 1987; one great-granddaughter, Tiffany Warren and three sisters and two brothers: Pernie Cox, Opal Cox, Nancy Shreve, Bernard Lawson and Leslie Lawson.

Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Campbellsville ST, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
