Elder Joseph J. Pace, age 62, of Burkesville, Ky., passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the U.K. Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Funeral services for Elder Joseph J. Pace will be held at 1pmCT, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N. Main ST, Burkesville, KY with burial in the Taylor Cemetery. Friends may call after 1pmCT on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Norris-New Funeral Home anduntil the service on Tuesday, August 24, 2010.



Elder Joseph J. Pace, Cumberland Co., KY (1948-2010)

Joseph J. Pace was born in Cumberland County, KY on Sunday January 4, 1948, the son of Mary Eliza Pace Allen, and died Friday, August 20, 2010, in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY, at the age of 62 years, 7 months, and 16 days.

He was Elder and Pastor of The Church of The Lord Jesus Christ on Spencer Street in Burkesville, KY.He was a merchant, former factory employee and an Army veteran who served his country in Germany during The Viet Nam War and attained the Rank of Sergeant.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Clarence Underwood "Buck" and Iva Ellis Pace and his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Tyler and Nina Vaughn Elliott.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie Elliott Pace of Burkesville, KY; his mother, Mary Eliza Pace Allen of Burkesville, KY, and the following:
  • A sister: Mary Edna (and Rickye) Kirkpatrick of Burkesville, KY

  • A brother: Dennis Sprouls of Hodgensville, KY

  • A sister: Shirley Goodin of Hodgensville, KY

  • Aunts: Elizabeth Clark of Wichita, KS; Shirley J. (and James) Norris of Burkesville, KY

  • A niece, Eunique Kirkpatrick

  • A nephew T.J. (and Christie) Taylor

  • Great niece: Samiah Taylor

  • Brother-in-law: Sherman Elliott of California

  • Nephew: Christopher Tyler Elliott of California

  • Cousin and church assistant, Sister Sandra Pace of Burkesville, KY

  • Foster children: Cathy (and Lewis) Rivas, Dwana (and Jeremy) Raymond

  • Foster grandchildren: Natalia Carey, Louis Rivas and Tristen Raymond
  • Many Cousins who loved him very much
  • and several other relatives
In lieu of flowers, contributions appreciated to help on expenses, and may be left at Norris-New Funeral Home.
