Obituary: Robert Allen Simpson, 67 Green Co., KY

He was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. in Bainbridge, IN, after a 35 year career there. He was a Master Mason, and under Scottish Rite in Louisville KY and was also distinguished as Kentucky Colonel.

Mr. Robert Allen Simpson of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Robert Allen Simpson will be conducted at 10amCT/9amET, Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Rev. Liz Kaznak will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-9pmCT/5pm-10pmET, Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT/8pmET, Friday until time of the funeral service. There will be a Masonic Service held at 7pmCT/8pmET, Thursday evening, August 19, 2010 at the funeral home conducted by the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM. All Masters Masons should meet at the lodge at 6pmCT.



Pallbearers: Kurt Gustin, Wade Simpson, Wyatt Simpson, Sarah Gustin, Roger Wyatt, Jimmy Keller, Brian Simpson, and Chris Estes,

Honorary pallbearers: Ron Cox, Billie Keller, Jeff Simpson, Keith Warf, Phillip Brown, Gregg Wyatt, Ricky Wyatt, and Allen Long.

Mr. Robert Allen Simpson, Green Co., KY (1943-2010)

Mr. Robert Allen Simpson of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Lucian Simpson and Alice Gardner Simpson, was born on Friday, August 13, 1943 in Liletown Community of Green Co., KY, and departed this life on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Green Co., KY. He was 67 years and 4 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher. He was retired from the Indiana Ford Motor Company having worked 35 years. He was a Master Mason in Bainbridge, Indiana and was also under Scottish Rite. Mr. Simpson was also a Kentucky Colonel.

He united in marriage to Alice June Brown on November 23, 1962 who survives.

Other survivors include the following:
  • A daughter: Cynthia L. Gustin of Indiana

  • A son: Robert A. Simpson, Jr. of Indiana

  • Four grandchildren: Kurt M. Gustin, Wade A. Simpson, Wyatt S. Simpson and Sarah E. Gustin all of Indiana

  • Three sisters and three brothers: Lora Wyatt of Indiana, German Simpson, all of Greensburg, KY; Shirley Long of Indiana, Wayne Simpson of Indiana, Junior Simpson of Edmonton, KY; and Joyce Akin of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
