Confessions of an amateur photographer The case of the faux doe. Sometimes mind and eye sync in subtle, deceptive ways Click on headline for the whole story, with photographic evidence By Johnietta Jessie As you know, all amateur photographers are always excited at the prospect of a truly one of a kind photo. Sunday morning I was out driving around looking for some good photos, I decided to drive down to Metcalfe Co. Lake and Sportmans Club. I rolled down my window, turned on the camera and took off the lens cap ready to shoot if I saw some turkeys or deer. As I came around a curve, I saw a doe lying in the grass looking at me and I just about lost my breath. I picked up the camera and with my zoom lens I focused on the deer. She did not move and so I thought I would ease my car forward a few more feet. Again I focused the camera and embarassingly I realized the doe was really a fake one. The sportsman's club was evidently having an archery event Sunday, and had set up the deer for the event. -Johnnietta This story was posted on 2010-08-16 06:46:19
