Obituary: Norma Jean Hatcher, 45, Columbia, KY

Her life had touched and had been an inspiration to so many in Adair County and well beyond. She was a member of a large, respected family. She was a professed Christian and had been a factory worker and had been employed in the construction industry until she was no longer able to do so because of illness.

Norma Jean Hatcher, 45 years, of Milltown RD, Columbia, Ky. passed away Wednesday Aug. 11, 2010 at 9:56 A. M. at the Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY, after an illness.

Funeral service will be Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 2pmCT, Friday, August 13, 2010 at the funeral home.



Norma Jean Hatcher, Adair Co., KY (1964-2010)

Norma Jean Hatcher was the daughter of Zenith Burton and the late Mary Ann Bohannon Burton. She was born on Friday, December 18, 1964, and died on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, in Coluimbia, Adair Co., KY at the age of 45 years, 7 months, and 24 days.

She is survived by her father Zenith Burton and his wife Maxine of Columbia, KY; her husband Randy Hatcher, of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One son: Jeffrey Burton and wife Christie of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Stephanie Kelsay of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Donnie Burton and wife Sharon of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Teresa Ann Burton and husband Jimmy of Columbia, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Jordan Sapp, Autumn Burton and J. R. Kelsay

  • Five step-grandchildren

  • Her mother-in-law: Brenda Downey Hatcher of Columbia, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She had professed faith in Christ, was a former factory worker and a construction worker.
