Obituary: James O. Johnson, 57, Russell Co., KY

He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, an electrician, and United States Air Force veteran

James O. Johnson, 57, Lake Trail Landing, Russell Springs, KY, died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident Sunday, August 8, 2010, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 10amCT, at Fairview Baptist Church, 2594 E Highway 80, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Rick Mann, Rev. Steve Bennett. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Wednesday, August 17, 2010, at the church.



Pallbearers: Ross Morgan, Eddie Arnold, Tim Roy, Jackie Grant, Ryan McQueary, Randy baird, Scott Shutz, and Larry Burton.

James O. Johnson, Russell Springs, KY (1952-2010)

James O. Johnson was the son of the late Loretta Jane McCannon Johnson and Preston Glen Johnson. He was born Monday, September 1, 1952, in Mt. Clemens, Macomb Co., MI and died Sunday, August 8, 2010, in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY, at the age of 57 years, 11 months, and 7 days.

He was an electricians and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Ford Johnson, and the following:
  • Four children: Monica Louise Johnson, Russell Springs, KY; Preston Glen Johnson, South Korea; Lawrence Jamie Carta, Jr., Richmond, KY; and Brian Joseph Carta, Russell Springs, KY

  • One brother: Robert Johnson, Michigan

  • Two sisters: Anne Koenigs, Wyoming, and Kathy Sofield, Florida

  • And nine grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Johnson; and a granddaughter, Macy Carta.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
