Obituary: Lawrence Thomas Royse, 74, Metcalfe Co., KY

He was the head of a prominent North Metcalfe County family. He was a dedicated farmer and was a member ot the Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church

Lawrence Thomas Royse age 75 went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at his home in Knob Lick.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pmCT, Wednesday, July 4, 2010, at the funeral Home.



He was a former carpenter anddedicated farmer. He was a member of the Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He was the son of the late Tollie and Lola Hensley Royse.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Gassaway Royse, and the following:
  • Four sons: Ricky Royse of Knob Lick, KY;Mark (Tonia) Royse of Bowling Green, KY; and Keith and Kevin Royse of Knob Lick.

  • Two daughters: Lori (Mark) Hess of Prospect. KY; and Rhonda (Avery) Matney of Center, KY

  • One sister: Eileen Brown of Glasgow, KY

  • Two step daughters: Connie McCoy of Owensboro, KY; and Leisa (Steve) Shirley of Fountain Run, KY

  • Six grandchildren, Chris Royse, Josh, Logan and Molly Matney. Delaney and Olivia Hess

  • Three step grandchildren: Karol Ann Hoffman, Kyle Shirley and Natalie McCoy

  • Two great-grandchildren

  • Two step great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends to mourn his passing
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the New Liberty Cemetery.

Butler Funeral Home, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
