Obituary: Mr. William Dennis Shirley, 84, Green Co., KY He was a native of Adair Co., KY and was a member of a large, highly regarded family with deep roots in Adair and Green Counties. He was a member of the Summershade United Methodist Church. He will be laid to rest in Adair County, KY Mr. William Dennis Shirley, 84, the son of the late Henry and Della Burris Shirley departed this life on Monday, August 2, 2010 in Greensburg at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home. He was 84 years, 11 months and 21 days of age. The funeral service for Mr. William Dennis Shirley, will be conducted Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 1 PM CST at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main ST, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, 1915 Keltnertown RD, Columbia, KY in the Keltner Community of Adair County. Rev. Billy Raby and Rev. Pat Humphrey will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4-9pmCT, at the funeral home. Active pallbearers: Charles Shirley, Shawn Shirley, Udell Shirley, Volin McMahan, Donnie Shirley, and Jody Marr. Honorary pallbearers: Claudie & Renea Hancock, Marcus and Renea Kessler, Martha Etta Squires, Carol Shirley, Cora Young, and Ralph Brock. Mr. William Dennis Shirley, Adair Co. native (1925-2010) Mr. William Dennis Shirley was the son of the late Henry and Della Burris Shirley. He was born Wednesday, August 12, 1925 in Adair Co., KY, and departed this life on Monday, August 2, 2010 in Greensburg, Green Co, KY, at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home. He was 84 years, 11 months and 21 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summershade United Methodist Church and he was a farmer. He united in marriage on February 16, 1946 to Mayrine Furkin, who survives. Survivors include the following:
