CJE Ann Melton makes Annex available as cooling station Heat advisories and warnings are in effect Adair County's Heat Index was 109 degrees at 11:15amCT 'Look out for each other, as you always do,' she reminds with an actual temperature of 95 degrees. The actual temperature at Taylor County was 90.4; at Metcalfe Co, 90.5; at Cumberland County, 90.8; at Casey County, 90.7. As reported by the Kentucky Mesonet weather stations Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton is asking all Adair Countians to take special precautions today because of the extreme heat today. "It is dangerously hot today," she said, "I want to remind everyone to do what Adair Countians do so well and look out for each other." "I also want to encourage everybody to remember to check on neighbors, particularly elderly or shut-ins, in addition to others who may otherwise need help," she said. "If anyone needs or knows of anyone who needs to to find a cooling station, they are encouraged to call the my office, (270) 384-4703," she said. "We'll be happy to open the Annex basement for them. It's air conditioned and we'll do the best we can to make sure they are comfortable there." Judge Melton asked any other organizations or individuals who may be able to render hot weather assistance to call her office at (270) 384-4703.
