Obituary: Alfred Thomas Mason, 85, Russell Co., KY

He was a member of a respected Russell County family and of the Mt. Calvary Separate Baptist Church. Mr. Mason was a retired canning factory worker.

Alfred Thomas Mason, 85, Hwy 92, Russell Springs, KY, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at the Russell County Hospital in Russell Co., KY.

The funeral service will be Monday, August 2, 2010, at 2pmCT, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Clifford DeHart and Bro. David Coffey officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be at Bernard Funeral Home Memory Chapel after 5pmCT, Sunday, August 1, 2010.



Alfred Thomas Mason, Russell Co., KY (1925-2010)

Alfred Thomas Mason was the son of the late Lillie Myrtle DeHart Mason and Thomas Bailey Mason. was born in Marion County, KY, on Sunday, July 26, 1925, and died in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY, on Friday, July 30, 2010, at the age of 85 years and 4 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Zora Lou Redmon Mason.

He is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Carolyn (Kenneth) Antle and Mona (Brian) Popplewell, both of Russell Springs, KY, and Kathleen (Jeff) Gilbert, Trafalgar, IN

  • Five grandchildren: Keely, Justin, Adam, Travis, and Jaime

  • One great grandchild: Layla

  • Two sisters: Mabel Morgan, Jamestown, KY; and Verna Mae Roberts, Shelbyville, IN
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Mason.

He was a retired canning factory employee and was a member of the Mt. Calvary Separate Baptist Church.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
