More Lights, more Parking in Village of Hardscratch

]Friday night Fish Fry goers at Hardscratch General Store may be a bit startled at the new look. There will likely be lights on in the new Hardscratch General Store Annex across the road from the main store at 7289 Hwy 55 South Road, Columbia, KY, and maybe a bit of bang clanging.

Ken Hill has now leased the building, and is transforming into a space for two local businesses: an adjunct to the General Store on the right hand side, and, on the other, as a location for Paul Holland's window tinting and sign business. "Paul is one of the best sign painters in Adair County," Ken Hill said, "He's needed more space and a more prominent place on the highway, and this is it.

In addition, fish fry crowds will find that the parking has eased. The Hills now own the property in back of the store and now, with the lease of the strip across the road there will be parking assured on that side.

In the past, those going to the big Friday night fish fries have sometimes had to wait or give up parking, but that shouldn't happen any more. Fish fries are every 2nd and last Friday night of the month, from 5pm-8pmCT.The Village of Hardscratch is also the home of Ken Hill's gun shop, the store with "deals so good we can only open one day a week," the sign says.
