Obituary: Blanche Crawhorn Nelson, 78, Cary, IL She was a native of Bliss, Adair Co., KY. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and for the beautiful quilts she created for her relatives and friends.She was a 56 year member of the First United Methodist Church of Cary, IL. Her marriage to Eugene Nelson endured 56 years. Blanche M. Nelson, age 78, of Island Lake, IL, died July 24, 2010, at her home, after ashort but courageous battle with cancer. The funeral Service Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 11amCT,. At the First United Methodist Church, , 500 N. First ST, Cary, IL. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 South Rawson Bridge RD, Cary, IL. Visitation will be Wedneday, July 28, 2010, from 4-8pmCT at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake RD, Cary, IL. Blanche M. Crawhorn Nelson, Adair Co., KY native (1932-2010) Blanche M. Crawhorn Nelson was born Monday, June 20, 1932 at home in Bliss, Adair Co., KY to James and Eva Crawhorn and died Saturday, July 24, 2010, in Island Lake, IL, at the age of 78 years, 1 months, and 4 days. She is survived by her husband Eugene Nelson whom she married June 25, 1954, in Chicago, IL, and the following:
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Blanche created beautiful quilts with love for her family and friends. She was adevout Christian and a 56 year member of First United Methodist Church Cary, IL. Memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association in deference to her beloved Husband Eugene's battle with this debilitating disease.
