Obituary: Rena Belle Duncan, 72, Metcalfe Co., KY

She was a member of a prominent Metcalfe County family. She was a retired teacher after a career with the Metcalfe County School System and was a member of the Edmonton Baptist Church

Rena Belle Duncan, age 72, of Edmonton, KY, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at her home after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held 11amCT, Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Edmonton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pmCT, Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of the late Luther and Druscella Shive Whitlow.

She was a retired teacher from the Metcalfe County School System and member of the Edmonton Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Curt Duncan, and the following:
  • Two sons: Todd (Laura) Duncan of Indiana and John (Brenda) Duncan of Edmonton, KY

  • One daughter: Terri (Eric) Albany of Edmonton, KY

  • One brother: Haskell Whitlow of Louisville, KY

  • One sister: Joan Whitlow of Frankfort, KY

  • Nine grandchildren
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Whitlow.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made the to the Alzeheimers Association.
