Mrs. Anna Compton Shively, 85, Greensburg, KY. She was the matriarch of a respected family. She was a member of Sunny Hill Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Durham High School and of Madame C.J. Walker Beauty School.

Mrs. Anna Compton Shively, 85, Greensburg, KY, departedthis life Wednesday morning, July 14, 2010 at the Golden Living Green Hill Manorin Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W. Court ST, Greensburg, KY, at 1pmCT, Saturday, July 17, 2010. Visitation will be after 6pmCT, Friday, July 16, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shively Family Cemetery, Greensburg, KY. Ministers will be Rev. Louis Williams, Master of Ceremony; Rev. Steve Lee, Eulogy.




Pallbearers: David Henry, Charles Bishop, Rodney Nunn, Jerry Cowherd,David Spachman, Stanton Shively, Skyler Shively, and Terry Wilson.

Honorary Pallbearers: Addie Wood, Judy Nunn, Gladys Cowherd, Jeanette Bishop,Kenneth "Gap" Bishop, Staff of Golden Living Green Hill Manor.

Mrs. Anna Compton Shively, Green Co., KY (1924-2010)

Mrs. Anna Compton Shively was born Monday, December 15, 1924 in Green Co., KY, to the late Robert H Compton and Vester Hazelwood Compton. She departedthis life Wednesday morning, July 14, 2010 at the Golden Living Green Hill Manorin Greensburg, Green Co., KY, having attained the age of eighty-five years, six months andtwenty-nine days.

Mrs. Shively had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the SunnyHill Church of Christ, Campbellsville, KY. She was a graduate of Durham HighSchool and of the Madame C.J. Walker Beauty School.

She was united in marriage on July 7, 1946 toJames Franklin "Tutt" Shively, who preceded her in death. Besides herparents and husband she is preceded in death by four brothers: James John Compton,Henry Compton, Marshall Compton and one infant brother and four sisters: LiddyGaddie, Ethel Alexander, Minnie Cowherd and Pauline Staten.

Left to mourn her passing are the following:
  • Two daughters: Linda Sue Shively Morton and RitaAnn Shively

  • One son: James Franklin "Sonny" Shively and his wife Teria A. Shively

  • Grandchildren: Troy Shively and wife Brandy Shively, Gary Phillip Morton II and fiancePriscilla, Amber Boards and her husband Kenny

  • Great grandchildren: Stanton, Skyler,Donte, Travon, Cain, Ricki and Dedrick

  • One sister: Bessie Williams

  • One brother: Carl "Hoss" Compton

  • Special friends: Addie Wood, Judy Nunn,Gladys Cowherd and Jeanette Bishop.

  • Several nieces, nephews and other special friends
