Update, Tuesday morning, 6:15amCT. July 6, 2010: Gilbert Banta is located and is well, according to the Taylor Co. 911.

Bulletin from Campbellsville Police Department

On July 5, 2010, the Campbellsville Police Department, Campbellsville Taylor Co. Rescue,Campbellsville Fire Dept. and Taylor Co. Sheriff Department, along with community volunteersconducted an extensive ground search and neighborhood canvass.

Air Evac 43 conducted an aerial search and with the assistance of the One Call Now, awitness reported picking the missing person up on U.S. 68 East and dropped him off at theLebanon, Kentucky Kroger store.



With the assistance Lebanon Police Department, Video surveillance revealed the physical description and clothing Mr. Banta was wearing. Furtherreview of the tape, revealed Mr. Banta shortly left the store and was walking towards US 68East towards Perryville, KY.

If anyone witnessed nor has any further information to contact the Campbellsville Police Department at (270) 465-4122. It is believed he may be trying to get to Shelbyville, KY. Mr. Banta is wearing khaki pants, a blue dress shirt and white tennis shoes.-S/Chief Dennis Benningfield Campbellsville Police Department

Location: Left walking from his residence on Roland Street in Campbellsville, KY
Narrative: On Sunday, July 4, 2010, at approximately 6:30 pm, 79 year old Gilbert J Banta walked away from his residence on Roland Street in Campbellsville, KY. Mr. Gilbert J. Banta possibly suffers from Dementia. His descriptions is as follows:
Gilbert J Banta, Roland Street, Campbellsville, KY 42718
White Male; Height 5'8"; 79 yrs of age; 140 lbs with thin build; short grey hair above his ears brown eyes; fair complexion
If anyone has any information about Mr. Gilbert's whereabouts, please call your local police department or 911.
