To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I was reading the articles online and came across information about Lingan Wilson Selby. I was wondering if anyone had a photo of his headstone due to all the comments about what it should say on his stone. If so, how could we get a copy of the photo. We are descendants of Lingan and trying to learn more about him.

Thank you.

Gravestone of Lingan Wilson Selby

2010-06-23 - Photo By Ed Waggener. Union Cemetery, 174 Milltown Church RD, Columbia, KY
REMEMBERING LINGAN SELBY (April 11, 1752-June 1818). When would-be perpetual motion machine inventor Lingan Selby sought the secret of perpetual motion, he may never have dreamed that it would be his earthly remains which would reach that state. Originally buried in the Gilmer Cemetery at the site of Holladay Place, Selby was re-interred in the beautiful Union Cemetery on Milltown Church RD when the entire cemetery was relocated for the construction of the shopping center. Many believe that his birthday should become an official Adair County holiday.
