Preacher at Apostoles Prophetas church indicted Minister at since closed church on KY 531 in Adair Co., KY faces sex crime charges in Adair, Taylor Counties, KY By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY Columbia, KY - Forty-two-year-old Carlos Mendez-Almendra of 2227 Cane Valley RD in Columbia, KY has been indicted in Taylor and Adair Counties for sex crimes. Mendez-Almendra was indicted by the Taylor County Grand Jury for First Degree Sexual Abuse and Intimidating a Witness and by the Adair County Grand Jury for First Degree Rape and Sexual misconduct in related cases. The investigation is on-going and the indictments are the result of complaints filed in mid April of this year. Mendez-Almendra was the preacher at a Spanish speaking church, Apostoles Prophetas, on KY 531 in Adair County. The church has been closed. Detective B.J. Burton is investigating.
