Blueberries have arrived at the Farmer's Market

Myra Harrison reports at 6:20amCT that the variety of vegetables, fruits, plants and vegetables is bigger this morning, Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Adair Farmers' Market, located in the Extension Office Parking Lot, 409 Fairground ST, Columbia, KY, open 6am-10amCT, this Friday.

There are fat, rain plumped just picked Adair County grown blueberries, rhubarb for pies, a variety of herb plants, and in a little while, she says, Caitlyn Bunnell will arrive with homemade wheat and white bread.

There are four vendors today. Here are some of the items each has:
  • J & J Produce: White turnips. Greens. Zucchini. Onions. Red New Potatoes. White New Potatoes. Yellow Squash
  • Myra Harrison: Sugar Snap Peas. Beets. Mustard Greens. Kale. Several different Lettuces. Tomato Plants. And Herb Plants: Oregano, Sage, Lemon Balm, Chives, and Parsley.
  • Margie Rooks: Cabbage. Onions. Red Potatoes. Rhubarb. Zucchini. Beets
  • Darrell Bunnell: Blueberries. Lots of Flower Plants. And, his daughter Caitlyn is expected anytime with Homemade White and Homemade Wheat Bread.
Myra Harrison said that the buyers have been wonderful this year. "We really appreciate all the support we're getting. We've got an excellent selection this morning and one more vendor. The produce is really good, and everyone is having a good time," but added, "gardens are a little later coming in this year, so we expect to have even more growers and more variety each of the next sales days."
